The P&C Claims Adjuster is responsible for conducting investigations, evaluations and disposition of coverage and damage issues on claims and for recovering damages from at fault individuals or organizations on behalf of Assurant and our insured.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze coverage, facts, liability and damages.
  • Make appropriate adjusting decisions based on contractual terms, relevant statues and case law, and good claims practice.
  • Maintain mail, diary and phone calls within company standards.
  • Conduct investigations including interviews, recorded statements, securing public records and obtaining documents.

Qualifications

Required skills/experience:
  • Solid written/verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent business writing skills.
  • Flexible, can adapt to change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks yet is able to prioritize.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain 620 license within three months of hire.
Desired skills/experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Some building and construction knowledge.
  • Insurance/claims knowledge.

We may hire experienced, licenced adjusters at a higher level.
