Associate Business Processing Specialist

The Associate Business Processing Specialist is responsible for front line, direct contact with clients and customers while providing overall excellent customer service and problem resolution. The Specialist duties may include processing and reconciling premium transactions, underwriting activation, cancellation, or transfer of automotive financial products. Contact with customers and clients may include inbound/outbound communication via phone, email, or fax. This position reports to the Supv, Business Processing of the department and receives varying levels of supervision depending on their level within the Business Processing Specialist job family.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

  • Gain and maintain in-depth understanding of applicable products, clients, systems, and applications.

  • Underwrites contracts/warranties to ensure guidelines are met based on product, date, vehicle year/make/model, and mileage.

  • Enters/applies payments (checks/ACH) to appropriate client account(s) and to each specific contract/warranty in a timely and error-free manner; balances and/or reconciles payments received.

  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, other departments, and agencies; respond to inquiries/issues/concerns via email or phone; refers matters outside personal scope of authority to appropriate individual or department.

  • Partake in, and adhere to, training programs and quality assessment standards for effectiveness in supporting departmental goals and objectives.

  • Actively participate in the development of personal performance management plans.

  • Responsible for adherence to all Company policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines to ensure compliance.

What are the requirements needed for this position?  

  • Completion of High School/GED

  • 1+ years of experience and/or training in an office/contact center environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with team members, management, customers, and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to perform accounting and mathematic computations with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and under deadlines.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to generate ideas or resolve problems.

  • Ability to present a professional image.

  • Ability to establish courses of action to ensure efficient completion of work.

  • Ability to think creatively and make decisions based on incomplete information.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change, proactively recognize process improvement opportunities and be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.

  • Proficiency of computer navigation and Microsoft Office/Windows.
