Associate Technical Product Owner, Assurant-GCC, India

Represents the Business Product Owner at the team level, ensures that the team is delivering the functionality that meets business and client needs.  He/she must have past experience working with technology teams, and business skills and experience are a plus.  The technical product owner will be 100% allocated to one team in this role

This position will be in Hyderabad at our India location.

Working Hours: 12:30 PM IST to 9:30 PM IST

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Works with Business Product Owner to understand business objectives and product requirements, collaborates with BPO to prioritize the backlog; collaborates with business stakeholders to clarify user story requirements as needed
  • Writes functional and technical user stories that clearly communicate customer/stakeholder needs to the Agile team, accepts stories once complete
  • Understands and supports inter-team dependencies, and escalates issues when necessary
  • With Agile team, sets and communicates release date and scope
  • Attends team events (e.g. daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review)
  • Works with team members to ensure products are working in production (depending on DevOps model)
  • Mentors junior team members to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Facilitate Periodic Access Reviews

  • Manage intake / assignment of audit requests to agile teams

  • Facilitate Access Termination processes

  • Manage organization’s self-audit processes

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Overall 5+ Years of Product Owner experience.

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+  years experience facilitating audit requests, Periodic Access Reviews

  • 2+ years experience managing agile backlog

    2-4 years experience in a requirements and/ or audit request intake (e.g. business analyst), SME, or process owner role.
  • 2+ years experience with Power BI or other analytical tools.
  • 1+ years experience managing a team of 2+ people preferred; additional business or technical training may be required.
  • Recommended 2-5 years in industry

What is the Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge needed for this position?

  • Experience with agile development preferred; agile certification a plus
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies/tools and experience writing user stories.
  • Good understanding of customer needs and business strategy
