Hyla is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our growing team.  We are seeking an individual who thrives on challenges, enjoys helping others to solve problems, has a “Get It Done” attitude, and a strong desire to learn new things.

As an Automation Engineer, you will work on a team to drive new product development from concept to deployment.  This role will be a part of conceiving, designing, and developing innovative products for operations that may include robotics, mechatronics, sortation solutions, packaging automation, storage, material handling or other hardware solutions. 

Responsibilities:

You will work with many technical and non-technical colleagues to support design, development, and maintenance of operational systems.  An Automation Engineer will be involved in the following:

  • Integrate various components like actuators, PLC’s, robotic arms, conveyors, etc. into solutions that will automate existing operations.

  • Identify and execute opportunities to reduce production process costs.

  • Combine hardware and software to create solutions to best optimize production operations

  • Collaborate with multiple internal and external teams to make our systems and operations better.

  • Effectively communicate issues and findings using both written reports and verbal discussions

1st Shift: 9:00AM - 5:00PM

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering.

  • Familiarity with PLC programming and ladder logic

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize workloads

  • Highly competent problem-solving skills

  • Collaborates well in a team environment

  • Familiarity with databases a plus

  • Must be able to adapt to changing deliverables and/or requirements and demonstrate the ability to provide creative solutions to new problems. 

  • Ideal candidate is someone who loves learning and seeks challenges.
