Hyla is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our growing team. We are seeking an individual who thrives on challenges, enjoys helping others to solve problems, has a “Get It Done” attitude, and a strong desire to learn new things.
As an Automation Engineer, you will work on a team to drive new product development from concept to deployment. This role will be a part of conceiving, designing, and developing innovative products for operations that may include robotics, mechatronics, sortation solutions, packaging automation, storage, material handling or other hardware solutions.
Responsibilities:
You will work with many technical and non-technical colleagues to support design, development, and maintenance of operational systems. An Automation Engineer will be involved in the following:

Integrate various components like actuators, PLC’s, robotic arms, conveyors, etc. into solutions that will automate existing operations.

Identify and execute opportunities to reduce production process costs.

Combine hardware and software to create solutions to best optimize production operations

Collaborate with multiple internal and external teams to make our systems and operations better.

Effectively communicate issues and findings using both written reports and verbal discussions
1st Shift: 9:00AM - 5:00PM
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering.

Familiarity with PLC programming and ladder logic

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Highly competent problem-solving skills

Collaborates well in a team environment

Familiarity with databases a plus

Must be able to adapt to changing deliverables and/or requirements and demonstrate the ability to provide creative solutions to new problems.
