The Division Vice President (DVP) of Assurant Dealer Services leads the strategic and operational direction of a defined geographic business. This executive is responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue targets, growing market share, budget management, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction across a portfolio of automotive accounts. The DVP oversees performance of the regional sales team, drives new business development, and builds strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with Assurant Dealer Services (ADS) goals based on expertise within the channel, participants, markets, products and competitive landscape (traditional and disruptive).

  • Drive revenue growth, margin performance, and cost management across the division, creating a roadmap for increased profitability and commercial excellence within their division.

  • Research and proposes innovative strategies for ADS sales strategic accounts growth for their division; monitor sales effectiveness in delivering points of difference to increase our position in value creation for AIZ and our partners.

  • Provides leadership in developing best practices for measuring and optimizing strategic activities to drive data-driven decision making and excellence in their division.

  • Proactively analyze segments of customer data to uncover insights and key takeaways that inform strategic planning, increase revenue and drives business value in their division.

  • Synthesize and present data on account performance, identify areas of potential income improvement, and implement strategies to cross-sell products in their division.

  • Ensures any service gaps are addressed quickly and effectively and in situations of conflict with the client, leads the management team(s) to resolution looking to accomplish a win-win situation.  Measures client satisfaction and uses findings to identify and address areas of opportunities as well as build upon success stories in their division.

  • Collaborates with risk management team related to current clients to mitigate regulatory risk and manage client compliance and oversight requirements in their division.

  • Lead, mentor, develop and performance manage regional sales managers and support staff. Build a high-performance, results-driven culture.

  • Monitor division sales performance/pipeline metrics and provide coaching.

  • Creating a roadmap for increased profitability and excellence within their division.

What are the requirements needed for this position?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Marketing or related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in retail automotive space with concentration in the F&I arena, with demonstrated experience showing progression and increasing scope of responsibility.

  • 15 or more years in the Automotive Insurance experience and/or training industry.

  • Proven track record of strategic goal setting and personnel oversight, development and managing large, complex accounts.

  • Strong knowledge of the automotive ecosystem—OEMs, tiered suppliers, dealers, or fleet/aftermarket services.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and client relationship management skills.

  • Change Management - Develops workable implementation plans; Communicates changes effectively; Builds commitment and overcomes resistance; Prepares and supports those affected by change; Monitors transition and evaluates results.

  • Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; Aligns work with strategic goals.

  • Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; Supports organization's goals and values.

  • Strategic Thinking - Develops strategies to achieve business goals that support the overall organization’s goals; Understands business strengths & weaknesses; Analyzes market and competition; Identifies external threats and opportunities; Adapts strategy to changing conditions.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.​

How much should I expect to travel?  

  • Up to 70% travel

Strong preference to candidates that reside or are open to relocation to the Newark, NJ or Philadelphia, PA markets.

The Division Vice President, ADS is a commission-based position which is eligible for participation in a sales compensation plan and a biweekly non-recoverable draw.   The non-recoverable draw represents a payroll advance against future earned commissions for a fixed period of time.  Because this role is fully commission based, the earning potential is from $250,000 to $340,000.
