AVP, Flood Operations and Compliance

The AVP, Operations plans, organizes, leads, controls and coordinates operations through a team of managers and their respective teams.  The AVP, Operations is responsible for ensuring operations is positioned to deliver operational excellence and regulatory compliance by:

  • Delivering process effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Scalable to respond quickly to new requests and opportunities;
  • While providing superior customer service to internal and external customers thus enabling client satisfaction and retention

Lead Lending Solution flood operations teams including the flood technical team to deliver on client expectations for flood processing.  This includes ensuring that regulatory requirements as well as client-specific agreed-upon service level requirements are delivered consistently.  This leader owns flood results for legacy as well as Assurant’s future-state tracking environment and partners with key stakeholders in Compliance, Product, Operations, Quality Assurance, Tech Ops, IT and Account Management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead insurance processing teams focused on tracking flood insurance across a wide variety of client portfolios and requirements
  • Achieve service level requirements for accuracy and turn times consistently while managing to efficiency goals 
  • Partner with Compliance and other key stakeholders to maintain best practices for flood tracking in terms of loan level expected outcomes and SLAs as well as internal metrics such as KPIs.  
  • Responsible for achievement of established financial, talent and operational (productivity and quality) goals for Processing teams focused on flood.
  • Ensure successful approach for flood related to future-state Single Source Processing (SSP) platform partnering with IT and Operations leaders.  Ensure successful conversions of clients as to flood.
  • Work with Data analytics team to develop meaningful metrics to help measure operational effectiveness and success.  External audit results will be a key factor for confirming success.
  • Partner with Account Management and others related to client strategic approach to tracking flood as well as leading through change as needed.
  • Establish plans and execute for new clients or expansion of existing client deliverables.
  • Conduct needs analysis to determine appropriate staffing requirements.  Coordinates proper staffing of functional areas.
  • Serve as a key member of the Flood Regulatory Review Board.
  • Serve as member of Hazard Operations Leadership Team.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Sales & Account Executive organizations and Clients.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent/related field, or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of Flood Insurance servicing requirements and regulation ie OCC, FDPA
  • Minimum of at least 7 years of directly managing people.
  • Minimum of at least 7 years of operational management and/or business quality management experience in the areas of mortgage servicing, homeowners’ insurance administration and RESPA compliance.
  • Knowledge of fundamental information technologies and the ability to use people, processes and technology to improve efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, partner, mentor and communicate with various levels of the organization to define and execute cross-functional business objectives
  • Requires strong leadership, organizational and communication skills with various levels of leadership including clients to build consensus and problem solve by creating value add, mutually beneficial solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • 10 + years supervisory and staff development experience in a corporate environment required
  • 10 + years of experience in operations management, with oversight of multiple functions in a remote environment including near and off shore associates.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self- starter.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively to define shared goals, to design and implement effective tools and processes for meeting those goals, and for gaining alignment with all individuals involved in the associated initiatives
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to be able to manage multiple complex strategic and operational business initiatives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Pay Range

$138,200.00 - $230,800.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
