Business Resiliency Analyst

The Global Business Resiliency Program was established to protect our employees and client community from business unusual events that threaten our safety, brand, reputation, and financial solvency to maintain the highest level of quality in the services we deliver. The Business Resiliency Analyst is responsible for assisting with the development, administration, maintenance, and execution of all aspects of the Enterprise Business Resiliency program in partnership with business unit representatives, as well as participation in the execution of crisis management and communication protocols during events that may impair normal business operations.

Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Business Continuity Planning (35%) :  Assist with development, maintenance, testing, and documentation of business resiliency program including Risk Assessments, Business Impact Analysis, Department Planning, Business Continuity Plans, Emergency Operations Center Planning, and development of functional drills and exercises.

  • Consult with process owners to facilitate appropriate linkage between business functions and verification of associated recovery requirements.

  • Provide support, guidance and records the scheduled BCP exercise and provides the details to Business Continuity.

  • Perform periodic audits of existing BC Plans and report to management on improvements 

  • Ensure BC and DR plans are established to recover from major service disruptions and unusual business incidents

  • Situational Awareness (5%) :  Share responsibility for ensuring constant awareness of any event that may impair normal operations or represent a threat to customers or associates, and effectively obtain, validate, and communicate information regarding these events.

  • Crisis Management (10%) :  Support Enterprise response and impact mitigation of any business impairment event by effectively partnering with business units, as directed, in utilizing established methodologies for Planning & Preparation, Response, Recovery, and After-Action.

  • Manage resiliency projects as required to ensure the readiness of emergency response units and business and technology teams.

  • Own and execute end-to-end business continuity action items and drills

  • Create strong formal and informal networks with cross-functional partners to drive engagement and program sustainability

  • Risk Management Systems (30%) :  Contribute technical expertise and skills necessary to serve as an expert for programs tool enhancement utilized by the Business Resiliency group.

  • Training and Education (20%):  Assist with the development of training and education projects related to Business Resiliency program components and evolving threats that may impact operations within the organization.

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • 5+ years' experience in business continuity, crisis/emergency management domains

  • Experience in risk assessment, strategy development, testing, and project/program management.

  • Knowledge of insurance, financial, I/T, and risk management operations

  • Familiarity with business operations, critical business processes, and interdependencies on systems and applications

  • Strong communications, leadership, collaborative, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including relationship-building and negotiation skills and the ability to facilitate cross functional or multi-discipline teams

  • Strong process-orientation with superior skills in defining and mapping operational processes, as well as project management, and prioritization skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Analyze Problems and Make Decisions – Commit to a course of action after identifying and assessing alternatives based on logical assumptions, facts, resources, constraints, and organizational values

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university, or 3 to 4 years' directly related experience required.

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (DRII CBCP) designation or Emergency Management certification very helpful, but not required.

  • Strong process-orientation with superior skills in defining and mapping operational processes, as well as project management, and prioritization skills

  • Experience working in a complex, cross-functional global company

  • Knowledge of Fusion Risk Management a plus

  • Knowledge of OnSolve Mass Communication tool also a plus

  • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish or Portuguese a plus
