Channel Program Manager

The Channel Program Manager will be responsible for onboarding new clients, setting up their new Trade-In program, and managing the program until it achieves steady-state operations.  Once a new program reaches steady state, you will also continue to manage the strategy, tactics, and daily activities for the life of the program.  You will own one or more programs simultaneously and will serve as the primary interface with the client for all activities related to launch, onboarding, and daily operations.  You will also serve as the primary interface with Assurant’s internal cross-functional team of product managers, software engineers, and logistics managers with the goal of leading the team through a seamless program launch. 

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

In this role you will manage the project delivery and day-to-day activities of the Trade-In program for your clients. The successful candidate will be an articulate and proactive manager who measures success by the success of his or her program.  You will manage the full spectrum of activities listed below:

  • Onboarding of clients and implementation of complex cross-functional projects
  • Serve as the primary client interface for your client, and guide your client through the entire end-to-end process of implementing a Trade-In Program
  • Fearlessly drive the internal execution of program activities with your peers within Assurant, including our product managers, software developers, logistics managers, accounting managers, reporting & analytics managers, and factory operations managers. 
  • Manage all day-to-day activities of your project team.  You will be responsible for setting clear expectation with your peers, and then guiding them to deliver against those expectations.
  • Continually improve our processes to achieve the highest possible client satisfaction. 
  • Execute all day-to-day tactics including product configuration changes, compiling of reports, research and reconciliation of reporting, and responding to client requests and inquiries.
  • Proactively identify and execute new initiatives for your client program.  Our trade-in programs undergo continuous improvements that may include software enhancements, new features & functionality, new services, new channels, and pricing changes.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, or Engineering, or related fields
  • 3-7 years relevant experience in a project management, product management, or account management role.
  • Certified Project Manager status (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with both waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience delivering software implementations, logistics services, or complex professional services (experience with two or three is a plus).
  • Outstanding communication skills including verbal, written and listening skills. Proven success in creating and delivering impactful project plans, analysis and recommendations.
  • Outstanding organization and executional skills, with proven ability to plan and execute projects on-time and on-budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively & independently manage clients and projects.
  • Familiarity with collaborative Project Management tools like JIRA, Basecamp, Trello, etc.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Flexible, adaptable, self-starter. Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Eager to grow personally and take on new responsibilities.
  • Strong team player, with proven ability to execute in a collaborative environment and marshal resources cross-functionally.
  • Decisive and authoritative, with the ability to command the respect of your cross-functional peers to ensure team execution.
