Commercial Manager

Seeking a motivated individual that will be responsible for oversight and optimisation of commercial performance in Australia. Helping our business to achieve key top and bottom line objectives, with a focus on supply chain/purchasing and sales channel performance.

Managing the commercial function, including supporting a direct report (Commercial Analyst) to:

  • Develop and deliver a clear strategy for growing revenue & profitability

  • Manage purchase & sale pricing for a diverse range of refurbished technology products across all sale channels to maximise sales and profitability, whilst closely managing inventory risk.

  • Coordinate with sales team to meet stock requirements and identify sales/promotional opportunities plus new product line growth

  • Analyse and understand sales results and outcomes from different channels and constantly evaluate next best use of product

  • Evaluate and report on product performance: Manage product range and mitigate risk associated with slow moving products and overstocks

  • Work with key stakeholders to continuously review and implement sales strategy by channel and facilitate expansion to new channels

  • Perform regular competitor analysis to determine benchmark pricing and anticipate market moving events

  • Manage purchase pricing for device trade-in channels

  • Work closely with suppliers to understand product availability and upcoming purchasing opportunities

  • Develop and maintain reporting (ongoing and ad hoc) across all business functions including sales, operations, finance.

  • Work with Alegre trading partners to both administer auctions and cooperate when purchasing stock from key suppliers

  • Utilise existing reporting tools in Tableau environment and expand functionality where necessary to understand all aspects of stock flow, sales performance and operational performance to influence business decisions by providing analytical insights

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes such as:

  • Strong level of commercial acumen and agility

  • 5 years + of relevant work experience

  • Understanding of supply planning, purchasing, channel optimisation and pricing in online and retail environment

  • Team leader with strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a fast moving organisation driving rapid growth

  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and access modelling/calculation skills with a focus on data accuracy and an ability to creatively problem solve

  • Understanding of MS Access and BI tools, such as Tableau

  • Flexible mindset and ability to successfully prioritize important tasks across the role

  • Autonomous and adaptable to an ever changing business environment

  • Ability to plan, work to firm deadlines and results driven

  • Degree in Commerce or Finance ideal however not essential
