The Insights Intern is responsible for supporting internal Assurant business partners with insightful, analytical findings, as well as advancing the overall Data Analytics organizational strategies. This role will work with Data Analytics team members to learn analytical techniques and improve tools used by the team. The intern will present findings to the business and must be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
(60%) Create Value Through Data

Produce clear, insightful, understandable work products (visualizations, reports, presentations, etc.) to outline business opportunities and actionable recommendations

Transform data into insights by leveraging internal and external tools to identify and quantify opportunities

Build studies that add substantial value to the decision-making process through proactive data analysis, reporting, and research
-
Analyze existing solutions and optimize them based on the latest best practices, tools, techniques, and policies

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements, execute fast, and ensure the right training and hand-over effort to the stakeholders
(20%) Communicate Insights

Present analysis and resulting recommendations to senior management and/or clients

Leverage data to present compelling business cases to optimize investments and operations

Communicate and educate both technical and non-technical employees on analytics and data-driven decision making
( 20%) Support Data Strategies

Design, build, and deliver on our Data as a Product initiatives across the enterprise

Participate and drive data modeling and governance best practices

Provide rapid corrective response and action to resolve disruptive incidents

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 2nd year completed and currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Management, Information Systems or related program of study

Master’s degree candidates are preferred

2 years of strong SQL, Excel, SSRS, Power BI, and PowerPoint experience
