Device Care Center Security and Safety Manager
The Device Care Center Security and Safety Manager at Assurant plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, associates, visitors, and facilities. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and leading sitewide safety and security initiatives, including staff and customer safety, injury prevention, ergonomics, incident tracking, investigation, security assessments, emergency preparedness, training, and OSHA compliance. You will also develop and administer policies, procedures, and programs while managing an outsourced security staff and serving as the liaison to law enforcement throughout the service area to ensure the safety and security of the employees, associates, facilities, and assets.
What will my duties and responsibilities be in this job?
Security Oversight:

Manage and lead an outsourced security force to maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Develop and implement security protocols, procedures, and standards to protect company assets and personnel.

Conduct regular security assessments and risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
Safety Compliance:
-
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.

Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend improvements.

Manage site Safety Committee and collaborate with the IMS Compliance team on RIOS/R2/ISO certifications.

Liaise with HR, Risk Departments, and staffing agencies to ensure recordables are accurately captured.
Safety Compliance:

Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans.

Coordinate with local emergency services and agencies to ensure a swift and effective response to emergencies.

Provide training to employees on emergency response procedures.
Emergency Response Planning:

Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans.

Training and Education:

Conduct security and safety training programs for employees, associates and security personnel.

Keep employees informed about safety and security policies and procedures.

Promote a culture of safety and security awareness throughout the organization.

Act as the subject matter expert to assist training departments in building training modules.
Incident Management:

Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare incident reports.

Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of incidents.

Maintain incident records and ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities.

Analyze incident data to identify trends in injuries, accidents, or other hazards.

Maintain and update recordkeeping programs such as OSHA 300

Ensuring incidents are documented properly and thoroughly.
Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with security service providers, ensuring the quality of service and adherence to contractual agreements.

Evaluate and select security and safety vendors when necessary.

Act as the subject matter expert and provide market-related information during RFPs
Budget Management:
-
Develop and manage the security and safety budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.

Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
-
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in communications, education, emergency management, business administration, business administration, public administration, or related field

Minimum 10 years of physical security and resiliency programs experience in a logistics environment.

Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing contract labor.

Program/project management experience is a plus

Demonstrated ability to achieve results through working cross-functionally, influencing others, making timely decisions while considering needed trade-offs, negotiating conflicts, as needed

Strong problem-solving ability and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities and priorities to meet organizational goals

This position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and operate standard office equipment such as a computer and phone. $82,200.00 - $137,400.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
