Overview of Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Finance Department with a focus on Financial Planning and Analysis. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry while developing your financial analysis and planning skills. You will work closely with our finance team, supporting various projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing financial performance and providing valuable insights for decision-making.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Support the financial planning process by collecting, organizing, and analyzing relevant data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

  • Conduct financial research and analysis on industry trends, competitor performance, and market conditions.

  • Help identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial analysis and reporting.

  • Support the evaluation of investment opportunities, including analyzing potential risks and returns.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for senior management, highlighting key financial insights and recommendations.

  • Maintain and update financial models and databases, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

  • Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices in financial planning and analysis.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of insurance industry and financial services is a plus.
