Fraud Analyst

Fraud Analyst


The Fraud Analyst will be responsible for applying data analysis to identify potential fraud and risk issues at the account level. The Fraud Analyst will develop and implement operational data analysis initiatives for the benefit of the Mobile Services group and its customers.  Primary responsibilities include identifying and developing various techniques utilizing data analysis to identify, monitor, and mitigate fraud associated with new and current clients and programs.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

  • Analyze data and information using statistical methods to identify patterns in enrollments, claims and fulfillment activity.

  • Develop models to identify potential fraud and implement tools and processes to minimize or eliminate fraudulent activities.

  • Identify fraud by leveraging both internal and external data sources and risk segmentation techniques and work with internal business partners to propose, implement and track risk mitigation initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain ongoing data analysis and reporting from internal and client provided data.

  • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations to mitigate fraud and operational risks.

  • Establish data management processes and proactively work to minimize or eliminate fraud exposures.

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with Assurant’s finance, actuarial, client relationship, legal, compliance, and risk management organizations.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Bachelor's degree, focus in quantitative field a plus

  • Experience with Visualization Tools (Power BI, Tableu, etc.)

  • Experience writing mildly complex SQL Queries

  • Expert in MS Excel

  • Strong communication skills required to operate across multiple departments and stakeholders

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • 1+ years in Risk/Fraud focused role is a plus

  • Strong ability to find patterns, trends, and strong critical thinking skills to analyze the entire picture to identify outliers

  • Organized and self-motivated individual, comfortable operating within ambiguity

  • Desire to continually learn, adapt and work in a fun, fast-paced environment

  • Extreme attention to detail
