ISO Internal Auditor

This role is responsible for performing audits on all systems related to the regulatory programs (QMS, EHS, and R2) to which the US depot facilities subscribe.  The Regulatory Auditor will utilize the program Standard(s), Assurant’s documentation, and their own technical background and training, to identify system non-conformances and observations for improvement.  The Regulatory Auditor will generate, and issue audit report based on their findings, as well as Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as required.

  • 60%: System Auditing
    • Create & maintain the annual audit schedule
    • System level audits across all certified programs
    • Create and maintain audit forms, records, reports, and graphics utilizing Microsoft programs such as Word & Excel
    • Maintain data on audit results in appropriate hard copy and electronic format
    • Perform process audits as needed
  • 20%: Support
    • Regulatory Compliance Team with departmental tasks as needed
    • Safety team as needed with tasks related to the ISO/R2 standards
  • 15%: System Maintenance
    • Collect and maintain data on assorted matrices
      • Waste streams (trash, cardboard, plastic, and paper)
      • Environmental aspects & impacts
      • Health & Safety hazards & risks
      • Legal requirements
  • 5% : Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
    • Review audit findings with Supervision and Management for audited areas
  • Issue, monitor, and close relevant CARs as needed

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as Internal Auditor to any/all of the following:
    • ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)
    • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)
    • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety System)
    • R2:2013 or R2v3

Previous Experience

  • 1-3 years in an auditing position, preferably in a light manufacturing facility

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Competent understanding of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Able to interpret/create charts and graphs
    • Must have a strong grasp of ISO Management System Standards
  • Communication / Public Speaking
    • Must be comfortable with direct one-on-one interaction (with an auditee)
    • Must be comfortable speaking to or conducting training for up to 50 people at a time
  • Preferred Education
    • Certification as Lead Auditor to any/all of the following:
      • ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)
      • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)
      • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety System)
      • R2:2013 or R2v3
    • Any ASQ certification
  • Preferred Knowledge & Skills
    • Advanced understanding of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Preferred Previous Experience
    • 3+ years in an auditing position at a light manufacturing facility, consumer electronics (cell phones, tablets, etc.)

The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential for Overtime.
