Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Accountant position!
Overview of Position
The Lead Accountant is responsible for supporting International accounting and financial reporting, including foreign parent holding company accounting/audit support, as well as preparing local regulatory filings and supporting audits of Caribbean branches of ABLAC.
What will be my responsibilities in this role?

Assist with new governance function over international financial statement filings

Provide dashboard reporting over governance process

Manage several foreign parent holding company audits, preparing local regulatory filings, etc.

Local-to-GAAP Int reconciliations (Canada, Europe, APAC & LATAM)
-
Deep dive of Int'l reconciliations (Canada, Europe, APAC & LATAM)

Calendar coordination & alignment
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Education:
-
College degree in accounting
Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting/Finance role
Knowledge and Skills:
-
US GAAP knowledge
-
Knowledge of insurance accounting principles
-
IFRS knowledge
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong skills in Microsoft Office
-
Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels
-
Ability to manage numerous deadlines and prioritize workload accordingly
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
-
CPA, chartered accountant or equivalent designation
-
Big 4 accountancy experience
-
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)

Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements
-
Experience in coordinating audit processes

Experience in regulatory reporting
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

$60,700.00 - $101,100.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
