Marketing Business Analyst

The position will act as a liaison among internal stakeholders to analyze, document, communicate, and validate business and system requirements. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, you will promote adoption, track new releases, provide training, and more.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

 

Advanced  Email and SMS   Execution:  

  • Communicate email & SMS creative needs to in-house design team. 

  • Continuously monitor and optimize campaign and workflow performance while establishing benchmarks. 

  • Clearly communicate account and campaign wins and losses to account managers and strategists to help the client understand the roadmap for the future. 

  • Lead discovery efforts to gather necessary information from clients and internal team members to appropriately understand business needs and solution requirements for lead management and B2B digital marketing efforts 

  • Develop deep knowledge of each client's business and available data to ensure platform solutioning is on par with client's marketing and sales objectives 

  • Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements for platform configuration, data schemas and system integrations to deliver against business needs 

  • Lead platform configuration and development of digital marketing campaigns across all channels supported in SFMC (email, SMS, push notification, social, web) 

  • Oversee development, testing and deployment of SFMC Engage platform work completed by developers 

  • Provide support to development teams working on SFMC integrations 

  • Create Architecture and Technical specifications documents 

  • Serve as day-to-day SFMC technical SME to internal and client teams 

  • Work closely with project management team to manage workflow and deadlines across multiple, simultaneous platform-related projects and change controls 

  • Provide support to senior team members throughout project estimation and Marketing Automation discovery / road mapping engagements, as needed

Client Relationships:  

  • Manage day-to-day client interaction and expectations of internal clients and deliverables 

  • Keeps up with the latest trends in email and sms 

  • Responsible for informing team/client of new opportunities, issues or vendor offerings 

  • Participates and leads, if appropriate, face to face client and vendor meetings 

  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for assistant level 

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:  

  • Work with email & SMS marketing managers, account managers and strategists to develop marketing strategies and marketing plans to support and achieve the client’s business objectives. 

  • Develop long term and tactical customer journeys through both email marketing and SMS marketing platforms to increase retention and customer lifetime value. 

  • Work with email & SMS marketing managers to execute, optimize, and scale a variety of client email & SMS marketing accounts. ​

  • Recommend, strategize, execute and optimize campaign and workflow split-tests. 

  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner 

  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate 

  • Respond appropriately when presented with problems and issues 

  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them 

  • Be a thought leader, challenging teams to think outside the box, find innovative solutions, and drive success. 

 

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 

  • 5+ years of Email Marketing experience

  • 3+ years of SMS Marketing experience

  • Experience working at an agency preferred

  • Experience working with Ecommerce clients preferred

  • Experience working with SFMC/Exact Target preferred

  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple accounts

  • Advanced understanding of full funnel marketing, including prospecting, retargeting, and LTV cohort segmentation

  • Advanced understanding of Email Marketing Segmentation

  • Advanced understanding of Email Marketing tracking pixels, and the data that is passed

  • Advanced understanding of Product Catalogs and how to properly manage feeds

  • Advanced understanding of Merge Tags and Dynamic Insertion 

  • Advanced understanding of core eCommerce email metrics, including Engagement Rates, CVR, and RPR
