Material Processor Team Lead

Job Description

Assurant is now seeking a Material Processor Team Lead for the Lewisville, TX facility

This job is responsible for working with the Supervisors and assisting in training and developing the team, monitoring production performance, ensuring production, quality controls and SLA’s are met while adhering to the work instructions for the area of responsibility.   

Job Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of shop floor systems (Oracle, Unit Tracker, Ghost) 
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel 
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor
  • Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings (as needed)
  • Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer/business goals 
  • Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved 
  • Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues 
  • Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility 
  • Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes 
  • Participate with the 5S Audit team on monthly 5S audits 
  • Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits 
  • Forklift certified or prior experience if needed for area of responsibility (Stand up Reach truck) 
  • Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and workstation assessment
  • Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility 
  • Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and escalate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees 
  • Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading 

The schedule for this shift is Friday to Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM with the opportunity for OT.

Basic Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to use a personal computer and enter data 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of company personnel Occasional: Bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery, and office machinery 
  • This position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and operate standard office equipment such as a computer and bar scanner 
  • Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, lift, carry and/or move up to 20 pounds 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 1 year experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  • Basic personal computer skills 
  • Previous Forklift experience
  • Excel experience
