Principal Oracle Application DBA

As a Principal E-Business Suite (EBS) Engineer, you will be responsible administration and support of the Americas Oracle EBS platform running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will work closely with software engineers, architects, as well as other technology teams to support all EBS ERP application and database components. The role requires working with the key technologies of Oracle EBS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for deployment and configurations of R12, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Workflows, XML Publisher, and Oracle PL/SQL, etc.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • 60% - Primary role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the systems and infrastructure that support core organizational functions, as well as to conduct/lead research on new and emerging technologies for practical application to business problems and strategic initiatives.
  • 20% - Experienced knowledge of job role demonstrating advanced application of technical skills and interpersonal competencies
  • 10% - Provide support in developing strategy, planning, coordination, scripting, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to our distributed computing environment.
  • 10% - Other duties as assigned
  • Performs capacity planning, performance monitoring, tuning, and prediction.
  • Some after-hours work will be required
  • Position will require participation in incident handling for the purpose of resolving SQL related infrastructure issues impacting business functions.
  • Drive automation, innovation using contemporary technologies to improve speed, quality and cost of deployments, support and user experience
  • Manage and coordinate the SR Resolution Process, assign resources to resolve user service request and/or incidents

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 7 or more years of hands-on experience supporting and administering Oracle EBS ecosystems
  • Experience with administration of Oracle EBS 12.2.x
  • Experience with WebLogic and Middle tier technologies
  • Proficient in PL/SQL
  • Proficient in Concurrent Processing
  • In-depth knowledge of database internals (locking, consistency, replication, etc)
  • Experience with Oracle 12c/19c databases and sound knowledge with Oracle’s RAC systems, ASM and RMAN technologies
  • Basic understanding of dependent or closely related technologies to EBS Ecosystem (OS, server, storage, network)
  • Expert technical diagnostic and research skills, expert troubleshooting, ability to troubleshoot issues holistically
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues to management when appropriate to meet SLA requirements.
  • Requires ability to correctly assess risks of various alternatives and take appropriate actions to restore services in the event of system outages.
  • Ability to explain the technical implications of various alternative solutions to management

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • APEX administration & support experience desired
  • Scripting and automation using MS Powershell, Ansible or Terraform
  • Experience using ServiceNow ITIL managed processes
