Assurant is seeking a Product Management Director. In this role, you will be an individual contributor responsible for leading and managing key product development initiatives to support the Global Housing-Lending Solutions business objectives.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Strategically manage the new product development function for the Global Housing Lending Services business and works closely with cross-functional enablers in Operations, Technology, Actuarial and Legal to take prototype business cases from pilot programs to full launches.

Collaborate with internal stakeholder partners to develop insights and engage with external resources to bring strategic actions to market.

Own and drive the development of new/existing products and partnerships in line with the Global Housing strategic imperatives.

Collaboratively partner with the Global Housing team to identify, evaluate, and recommend strategic growth initiatives to ensure a robust pipeline of new initiatives.

Own the initiative P&L to ensure that business cases are met for both pilot and full launch initiatives.

Identify key research needs to help identify unmet needs, build business cases for funding research, recommend a research strategy, and leads the team’s research implementation.

Identify emerging themes, internal and external trends to improve performance and minimize risk.

Assist with the evaluation of product performance metrics and competitor actions to help facilitate decision making efforts.

Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Partner with key stakeholders, clients, third party vendors and strategic partners.

Works with legal teams to effectively manage Intellectual Property and protect assets.
What are the requirements needed for this position?

A minimum of 6 years of experience in product or program management experience analyzing data and developing recommendations.

A minimum of 8 years of Financial Services or P&C Insurance industry business experience

Experience in creating product briefings and presenting to senior leadership.

Demonstrated experience in independently conducting product analysis & gaining an in depth understanding of market dynamics.

B.S./B.A. degree
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

M.B.A. or equivalent advanced degree

6 years of experience in leading teams

Experience successfully communicating with, influencing, and obtaining the support of senior leadership on new initiatives.

Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate product implementation strategy and corresponding operating procedures to all levels within the company.

Proven ability to think strategically and innovatively.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams.

Problem solving ability and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities and priorities to meet organizational goals.

Ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audience.

Strong project management skills and good organizational skills to complete multiple complex tasks in a timely fashion

Knowledge of and past use of innovation and new product development tools

Ability to draw upon a broad base of technical skills to creatively solve complex product development challenges.

Ability to perform in a fast paced, dynamic, and ambiguous business environment.

Ability to work with senior level specialists in Legal, Actuarial, Finance, Operations, and Marketing

Flood insurance experience is highly desired.

$116,900.00 - $195,300.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
