Senior Business Systems Analyst, Germany

Remote working role in the Frankfurt or Cologne region

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Production Support Manager, Europe, you will lead elaboration activities in a multi-functional IT team.  In collaboration with business product owners, subject matter experts, and other IT team members you will investigate impacts on production applications. Identifying root cause, writing user stories, and supporting teams through all phases of the remediation.

You will need a broad understanding of business processes and related systems/interfaces and will perform root-cause and impact analysis on production issues of varying degrees of complexity. 

  • Initiate elaboration meetings.
  • Partner with other scrum teams to understand impacts.
  • Proficiency and efficiency with brainstorming/elicitation techniques to discover and validate requirements, including system interface impacts.
  • Use visual models to clarify a complex concept: data flow diagrams, process flow maps.
  • Have a deep understanding of the database structure (i.e. enough to query and analyze data).
  • Have a deep understanding of system architecture.
  • Monitor main business services, through the available technical monitoring tools and services
  • Perform root-cause and impact analysis for Tier 2 tickets.
  • Improve wider education of the technical services for main clients through the creation and sharing of important documentation and technical artefacts
  • Have SQL skills to perform data impact analysis.
  • Work with Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 3 (Technical scrum teams) throughout the resolution process and final closure of the incident report.
  • Ensure that the support process Service level agreements are followed with handoffs from and to T1, T3, and the enhancement intake process when applicable.
  • Ensure that the quality of the T2 investigation contains data and supporting materials to allow T3 to complete their investigation.
  • Ensure that escalations are communicated to the right parties when warranted (major incidents)
  • Improve proactive problem management solutions across trending issues to improve technical services
  • Lead point person of contact on tickets
  • Be the interface point for client queries

You Will Have:

  • Fluent in German and English language, both written and verbal  
  • Bachelor / Technical degree in any Information Technology field
  • Experience working in IT, business systems analysis.
  • Experience dealing with customers - internal or external in any capacity.
  • Experience working in a large organisation and the level of system stability expectation
  • Experience with Incident, Problem and Change Management principles
  • Advanced comprehensive knowledge of distributed environments
  • Excellent decision making skills, ability to escalate, ability to overcome resistance or pushback
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of SDLC
  • Proficiency with Personal Computers and Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL and Microsoft TFS
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with Issue tracking and ALM tools.
  • Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture
  • Familiarity with the Insurance industry.
  • Software Tools: Microsoft Office, Microsoft TFS, Microsoft SharePoint, Service Desk/Cherwell (incident documentation tool), Outlook (email)
