Senior Product Development Analyst

The Senior Product Development Analyst will support the Lender Placed Insurance Team. This role will involve evaluating new products, preparing policy forms and endorsements and lead the insurance product compliance activities of the business unit. The Senior Product Development Analyst will play a key role in Residential Fire (Hazard), Flood, Wind and REO products for the Lender Placed Insurance Underwriting and Compliance Team. The position requires high energy, a positive attitude, and a team player mentality. Strong communication skills, project management, research, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the State Filings Product Compliance team to ensure LPI product compliance with state regulations as assigned via OnceSumX.  

  • Have responsibility for researching new insurance regulations in detail and evaluate the impact to the lender placed insurance product.

  • Work with the business Legal to ascertain appropriate direction on regulatory changes and impact to forms, rules and rates for all lender placed insurance programs.

  • Amend current product manuals and policy forms in compliance with state regulations.

  • Work with State Filings and provide all materials needed for insurance product filings.

  • Assist State Filing analyst and prepare appropriate responses to any State Department of Insurance objections and work to resolve policy form issues to gain insurance program approval by the State DOI.

  • The Senior Product Development Analyst will define and develop new insurance product manuals and policy forms based upon client requirements and coverage needs. 

  • Assist in researching business ideas and trends for new lender placed insurance product offerings.

  • Develop and present business plans and justification for new business opportunities/new products.

  • Manage and direct internal resources and external vendors for effective implementation of product modifications.

  • Develop relationships with outside companies for potential strategic alliances and/or vendor administrators.

  • Keep up on latest industry and consumer trends in the field of homeowners and dwelling fire insurance by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, Internet research, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional societies.

  • Assist the client teams by attending client presentations as new product expert when necessary.

  • Provide new thought direction and expertise to Product Development Manager and client teams by attending strategy sessions for marketing, product enhancements or new product ideas.

  • Ensure integrity of existing products by serving as team member on business-driven product enhancement projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in insurance product development and compliance.

  • Some exposure to business development and strategic planning experience.

  • Prior experience data analysis and good working knowledge of P&C insurance.

  • Insurance regulations and product impact analysis.

  • Understanding of rating algorithms and compiling competitive data.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills. 

  • In-depth analytical skills, including strong financial analysis ability. 

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, including written and verbal. 

  • Strong problem-solving ability.
