Senior Project Manager

Overview of Position  

The Senior Project Manager manages the key aspects of project planning, implementation, and execution for enterprise wide projects and key initiatives.  Projects may vary in scope with moderate risk and complexity. This role will work with various team members and internal customers by coordinating and carrying out the project/implementation plan and delivering the expected objectives with high quality results. 

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

  • Manage medium to large scope business projects and be accountable for delivering a quality product.
  • Assist Stakeholders to gather and document business requirements
  • Work with teams to ensure business requirements are delivered and fully understood by the development teams and manage requirements of the stakeholders, customer expectations on current and future business needs.

  • Facilitate project kick off meetings, status meetings, requirement meetings, and any other meetings required for the project.
  • Balance the competing demands for project scope, time, risk and quality, while working with operations and leadership to ensure project change controls are in place to ensure project remains on schedule and in accordance with project plan
  • Use project templates to create and maintain project plans, action items, risks, change control items, milestone list, development status, lessons learned, and other project documents as needed. 
  • Prepare stakeholders for implementations by planning and/or gathering operational requirements, coordinating training for internal or external systems/dependencies, and providing support for questions related to our operation for small change requests for existing clients
  • Monitors progress through review of implementation schedules. Redirects efforts and escalates when initiative goals are not being met. 
  • Recognize opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations or take appropriate action.

What are the requirements needed for this position?  

  • 3-5 years of project management business experience and a strong understanding of all stages of project life cycle
  • BA/BS or 5+ years relevant work experience in mortgage servicing or in a financial institute.  

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP certification a plus
  • Proven facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision-making and conflict resolution skills; ability to track and control activities in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and tasks.
  • Strong influence and relationship building skills
  • Meeting facilitation skills (assist with facilitation of meetings, updates to project plans, project initiation documents, etc.)
