Solutions Engineering

Job Purpose (Why job exists)

This job is responsible for leading development, implementation, and delivery of new solutions that are systems/ tools, which are required for new programs/ services, as the Solutions Engineering team led by Sr. Director, Business Development & Solutions Engineering.

Primary Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

  • Design new solutions based on client’s needs and manage delivery in cooperation with BD and IT
  • Face with clients and establish relationship to identify where opportunity lies for us to propose new programs/ services, elicit and define business requirements for a new solution, update the status on development/ implementation and discuss issues if there is any, and successfully launch new solutions
  • Act as a liaison between clients and BD and between BD and IT in eliciting business requirements and brainstorming solutions, to achieve successful launch of a new program
  • Engage and leverage IT, Operations, and other relevant teams/ colleagues for successful delivery when needed
  • Support Sr. Director, Business Development & Solutions Engineering and Solutions Engineering Sr. Manager in all phases of solutions delivery

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, science, business or related discipline
  • At minimum 8 years of experience in IT, specifically delivering new solutions to clients
  • Experience working with/ at telecom carriers for more than 5 years in the field of Business Development/ Sales, solutions engineering, pre-sales, IT consulting, technical marketing, etc. --- this is not an absolute must but very strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead technical communication with clients                                         
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Japanese and English as well as interpersonal skills
  • Team player yet strong sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Proactive, willing to learn and ask questions, and self-starter
  • Flexible and capable of handling multiple projects/ assignments concurrently
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Experience working in a fast-paced high pressured organization
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Able to deal/ cope with or enjoy volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity
