Overview of Position

The Senior Accountant performs accounting duties to provide accurate and timely financial statements to enable senior and product line management to make appropriate business decisions and achieve departmental goals.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Prepare monthly accounts receivable invoicing and reporting for various clients. Assist with preparation of the monthly Accounts Receivable Reporting and updating of the client tracker. This will also include any cash application that is required along with review of cash application by our shared services partners. (50%)

  • Prepare any journal entries related to accounts receivable balances monthly, including and accounts received sub-ledger adjustments that may be required. (20%)

  • Preform all accounts receivable reconciliation monthly and record in our reconciliation quarterly as required. This included daily sales and cancel reconciliation. This includes making needed adjustments to the general ledger and sub-ledger as needed and researching any outstanding items.  (10%)

  • Provide supporting documentation to our internal and external Audit team as requested. This includes select requirements for SOX controls, along with client level detail requests related to premium testing and client remittance verifications. (10%)

  • Initiate and implement process improvements. Develop and maintain process documentation. (10%)

  • Responsibility for work of others: Serves a subject matter expert to newer employees

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent in work experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 3+ years of general accounting experience

  • Strong accounting skills

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Must be able to utilize technology to enhance efficiencies

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and research skills

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills.
