In this role as a Sr. Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for owning and managing complex calculations that have both internal and external responsibility. This individual must possess critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and is a trusted individual who can be counted on to provide consistent, high-quality results on complex problems. This individual must possess strong communication skills and be able to detail and effectively communicate financial trends both externally to clients and internally as well. This individual must be able to work in a high-pressure environment to meet tight deadlines.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • This role will support the Domestic Auto business and will calculate complex client income sharing statements monthly.

  • Analyze monthly financial trends for accuracy and explain any changes to the trends both internally and externally.

  • Lead the development of an earnings and claims trend report by client to effectively communicate shifts in the business both internally and externally.

  • Work with the actuarial department to understand earnings changes and how they impact the financials.

  • Work with the accounting department to ensure accuracy of client income sharing GL entries.

  • Work with the treasury department to manage outgoing cash payments.

  • Effectively use query software to pull data used for monthly client statements.

  • Work closely with the client management team to provide early communication on changes or shifts in the financial trends that may impact the client.

  • Effectively communicate to management any changes or shifts in the financial trends that will impact internal financial results.

  • Review contractual agreements related to the calculation of monthly client statements and effectively implement any changes.

What are the requirements needed for this position?


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Math, or equivalent work


  • 3 to 5 years of Finance, Actuarial, Statistics or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and overcome challenges.

  • Strong financial, technical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong Excel skills

  • SQL and code writing knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to manage numerous projects/deadlines and prioritize workload accordingly.

  • Ability to operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? 

  • Financial or actuarial experience in the insurance industry

  • Actuarial experience a plus

  • Insurance industry experience

Pay Range

$62,000.00 - $103,400.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
