The Strategic Business Initiatives Analyst will work together with the VP of Strategy Initiatives and the assigned business unit or operational leader on facilitation, identification, prioritization, testing and implementation of growth initiatives at the Enterprise level.  Will also include responsibilities such as assisting the product managers, and/or initiatives owners think through, document, and track their strategic initiatives.  This role will work closely with Research, Product Leaders, Solution Engineers, Legal, Compliance and Marketing, to expedite the development of product and operational solutions to our clients.  They will also coordinate and manage the portfolio of projects inflight under the purview of the Innovation Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the enterprise team in the identification and prioritization of multi business units’ initiatives that are focused on growing revenue and profit and are in line with Assurant’s strategy and appetite.
  • Participate in and facilitate the Identification, evaluation, and recommendation of strategies to develop innovative cross business unit products and services.
  • Work with assigned business and operational product/project leaders to ensure proper evaluation, documentation and tracking of select initiatives.  Track and report on the progress of the portfolio of initiatives under the purview of the Innovation officer and identify and escalate issues that threaten the achievement of initiative goals.
  • Develops and tracks pilots for assigned products and initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring standards to assess product results such as profitability analysis & loss trends and recommends corrective actions.

Required skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. M.B.A. or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and good organizational skills to complete multiple complex tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work with senior level specialists in Legal, Actuarial, Finance, Operations, Compliance, State Fillings, Risk, Data Analytics, IT and Marketing..
  • Problem solving ability and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities and priorities to meet organizational goals
  • Ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audience.
  • Ability to engage, make decisions properly support by facts, and lead teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Skilled at these applications: Office 365, Word (proficient level), Excel (proficient level), PowerPoint (proficient level), MS Program (proficient level), Smartsheet and Visio (proficient level) Program management and/or program management business experience
  • Aha! (+) and/or SalesForce (+)
  • Good interpersonal skills- especially working with cross-functional teams- and the ability to present a professional image.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivation to work independently to meet organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential by having taken leadership roles in out of a work experience.
  • Demonstrated inclination to be highly engaged in select endeavors.
  • Collaborate effectively with management and teams at all levels to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to present to multiple/varied audiences internally & externally.
  • Establishes strong internal relationships across the organization.
  • Must be able to manage change within the organization.
