Hyla is looking for a Mobile Quality Supervisor to join our growing team!  We are seeking an individual who thrives on challenges, enjoys helping others to solve problems, has a “Get It Done” attitude, and a strong desire to learn new things.

Hyla Mobile, an Assurant Company, is a rapidly growing company that provides Mobile Device technologies and services to Wireless Carriers and Consumer Electronics Retailers. Hyla’s goal is to transform the wireless ecosystem by enabling Carriers and Retailers to offer smartphone trade-in programs to their consumers. Hyla manages these trade-in programs on behalf of the top brands in the wireless industry, including AT&T, Verizon, Best Buy, Google, and many others.

Under the direction and supervision of the Director, Quality Assurance, the Mobile Quality Supervisor will be responsible for all Quality facets of assigned product program(s).  Activities include; ensuring quality process documentation and standards and followed, investigating and addressing customer complaints, leading quality improvement efforts, resolutions of material non-conformance issues and supporting the internal Quality audit/inspection function. 

Responsibilities also include providing on-going guidance, coaching, feedback, training and development of Electro-Mechanical Assembly Inspectors, Auditors and Technicians to ensure that all established processes and procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide verbal and written inspection training and audit / inspection results.

  • Map out employed Quality process flows and identify potential process and workflow improvements.

  • Personally perform internal quality audit work in accordance with developed Quality / Company standards.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and process standards, while maintaining employee morale and overseeing the training of new and existing staff.  

  • Work with management to establish department and company goals, and rely on experience, judgment and innovation to achieve them. 

  • Create and utilize reports to accurately represent product flow and task completion rates and percentages.

  • Liaison between teams, shifts, and departments, and partner with vendor / customer / client representatives.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment for personnel to work in while ensuring all safety and environmental regulations are followed.

  • Ensure proper labor utilization and develop staffing requirements.

  • Conduct interviews for all nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Days / Shifts needed:

  • 2nd Shift: 3:30pm - 12 Midnight; Monday - Friday 
  • Weekends: 5:00am - 5:30pm; Friday, Saturday, & Sunday

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or related discipline

  • 3 years of leadership or supervisory work experience

Other Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have intermediate to mediate math skills.

  • Must have Strong PC skills (spreadsheets, databases, etc.) and familiarity with label printers and bar code scanners.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills including, effective oral communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Must have the ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of company personnel as well as external personnel.

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and able handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Working knowledge of Quality and Environmental systems and product auditing.

  • Ability to identify potential process and workflow improvements

  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, and Quality System Gap Analysis techniques with the ability to apply same in a practical, effective fashion.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong math, reasoning, analysis and decision making skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills in a teamwork setting

  • Exceptional knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Office to create spreadsheets, data graphing, statistics, presentations, effective procedures, flowcharting, and inspection standards.

  • Multi-tasking ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of company leadership staff and management
