Job Purpose (Why job exists)

Provide a summary of the job’s purpose and objectives

This job is responsible for management of warehousing and distribution operations with superior’s guidance, to ensure quality, productivity, cost, lead time targets are achieved.

Primary Job Accountabilities/

  • Manage end to end supply chain operations for assigned client in compliance with company’s policies and objectives.
  • Develop warehouse operations systems and inventory management systems by determining requirements, evaluating, implementing policies and procedures.
  • Develop warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems by evaluating and recommending new equipment.
  • Meet warehouse operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Effectively manage throughput and mitigate peaks and overflow.
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with inventory management system & ERP
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport/courier companies and internal cross functional coordination.
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, E & O stock report, latency, etc.)
  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided 

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
  • Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision making and logical problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, innovative/ creative thinker, ability to think from scratch/ differently, self-starter, and quick logical learner
  • Detail oriented and action focused, agile
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Experience in working in matrix organization
  • Able to cope with (or preferably enjoy) fast-paced and high-pressured environment
  • Comfortable to operate under volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment
