Overview of Position  

This job is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the necessary resources (i.e. material and labor) to ensure we produce the necessary electronic devices on time to meet/exceed our customer’s in-store expectations. You will be entrusted to make critical decisions that will affect our business such as identifying what products need to be built, within what time frame, and identifying the components needed to complete the tasks. You’ll be expected to maintain KPI’s for critical process impacting Customer commitments.  This is a remote position.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

  • Monitor and adjust plans to meet inventory investment targets and turns
  • Plan the daily/weekly production for repair based on Master Schedule requirements
  • Develop/create production plans to meet shipping and inventory goals and modify as needed
  • Control release of work orders to production to cover schedule requirements
  • Coordinate availability of material (handsets and components) for production with stockroom and receiving
  • Balance schedule requirements with production capacity – adjust schedule as required to align with capacity and constraints
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly feedback on production status (against work orders and schedules) to senior management
  • Coordinate availability of production capacity with production supervision
  • Execute Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to drive requirements for components and handsets
  • Coordinate with buyers to expedite material from suppliers as required
  • Analyze trends to forecast demands
  • Participate in staff selection, performance, and development/training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  • Establish and maintain departmental procedures and practices to ensue efficient operation and continuous improvement
  • Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences, transportation, personnel schedules, or purchase, maintenance, or repair orders to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.  

What are the requirements needed for this position?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Business/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the management of material and production planning
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Excel (pivot tables, charts, relational databases creating formulas, and trend analysis)

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • APICS Certification preferred (CPIM or CSCP)
  • Solid understanding of MRP process for driving time-phased, end-item and component requirements
  • Able to read and interpret Master Schedule data and develop detailed production plans
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains
  • Demonstrated strength with Tier One ERP: SAP or Oracle
  • Demonstrated ability to influence management, teams, and individuals
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) best practices
