Technical Accounting Manager

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, you will support the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data in the company’s general ledger and associated systems across the business. within our Global Lifestyle Organisation.
You will support the UK Financial Controller with timely and pertinent information to enable them to report to the business on performance. You will ensure the company remains VAT and IPT-compliant/optimised
You will have the following experience:
- Responsible for the day-to-day running and co-ordination of a Control team of 5 people
- Oversee the period-end process for the preparation of underwriting results!
- Ensure period-end provisions for outstanding claims and IBNR have been correctly made, liaising with actuarial and underwriting teams as required.
- Review internal processes within the finance function to mitigate areas of risk in addition to strengthening internal controls and related processes.
- Liaise with the Tax Dept for VAT and IPT compliance as required, ensuring that returns are prepared and submitted on time and working as necessary with external advisers on compliance and planning issues.
- Manage all staff reporting to the position to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activities.
