Vendor Compliance & Ethics Analyst, Assurant-GCC, India

This role provides oversight and performs comprehensive compliance activities for adherence with regulations, including auditing, risk assessments, monitoring, and vendor oversight to ensure that Assurant and its clients effectively comply with applicable federal and state regulations to mitigate risk exposure. The Compliance Vendor Analyst summarizes and provides reports to internal stakeholders and vendors demonstrating compliance with laws/regulations, contracts, agreements and/or standards.

This position will be based in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad at our India location. 

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

70% Risk Assessments, Audits, and Reporting -

  • ▪Conducts research, develops and performs compliance audits, risk assessments, monitoring, vendor monitoring, and/or vendor audits based upon client, laws/regulations, and internal requirements.
  • ▪Reviews and analyzes records, reports, controls, regulations and operating procedures and issues reports on regulatory adherence.
  • ▪Performs quantitative and qualitative research to further support audit findings and process improvement activities, including root cause analysis.
  • ▪Creates audits, risk assessments, monitoring, vendor monitoring, and/or vendor audits and reports to all levels of staff, including leadership.
  • ▪Participate in and lead meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders as part of testing and monitoring activities.
  • ▪Creates reports, conducts calibrations, and performs trending analysis of audit findings for business.
  • ▪Supports business with any identified necessary corrective action and performs testing and monitoring to ensure successful remediation of issues.
  • ▪Communicates regulatory and operational issues to the business to ensure process compliance and adherence.
  • ▪Provides support and assistance to management and business for the effective implementation of new regulations and regulatory requirements to ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place for regulatory compliance change management.
  • ▪Effectively communicates risks to business leadership to ensure regulatory compliance adherence.

25% Ad-Hoc -

  • ▪Participate in special projects and targeted risk assessments/audits as required.
  • ▪Demonstrates strong analytical and research skills.
  • ▪Manages multiple assignments, team workstreams, and priorities effectively.
  • ▪Conducts quality compliance reviews on peers.

5% Training -

  • Conducts associate cross training.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  •  Minimum of 3 years of experience in vendor compliance audits and advanced analytical, data management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong knowledge of business risk concepts in the mortgage, insurance, warranty and servicing contracts, and/or financial services industries.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing data analysis and improvement tools.
  • Experience in regulatory risk framework development and control environment mapping.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through working cross-functionally, influencing others, making timely decisions while considering needed trade-offs, negotiating conflicts, as needed.
  • Able to conduct a compliance regulatory audit, risk assessment, and/or vendor audit, collect and verify evidence, assist with preparation of preliminary and final reports, and write work papers to summarize findings.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing colleagues across multiple business functions.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and improvement tools.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft 365 products.

What are the preferred experience, skills, and knowledge needed for this position?

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Able to develop and implement compliance audits, risk assessments, vendor audits, research regulatory requirements, collect and verify review documentation, assist with preparation of preliminary and final reports, and write work papers to summarize findings.
  • Advanced analytical, data management, critical thinking, organizational, research, oral, and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive execution and meet stated deadlines.   
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance governing the mortgage, insurance and/or financial services
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business and technical environment
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive and able to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
