The VP of Hazard Operations and Service will lead flood operation teams including the flood technical team that resides within operations to deliver on client expectations for flood tracking.  This includes ensuring that regulatory requirements, as well as client-specific agreed-upon service level requirements, are delivered consistently.  The leader will also own flood results for legacy as well as Assurant’s future-state tracking environment while partnering with key stakeholders in Compliance, Product, Operations, Quality Assurance, Tech Ops, IT, and Account Management. While employing a collaborative and adaptive mindset, this position will require experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals that require minimal supervision. This is a remote position.

The Details  

The VP Hazard Operations and Services will have the following primary duties

  • Lead insurance processing teams focused on tracking flood insurance across a wide variety of client portfolios and requirements

  • Achieve service level requirements for accuracy and turn times consistently while managing to efficiency goals 

  • Partner with Compliance and other key stakeholders to maintain best practices for flood tracking in terms of loan level expected outcomes and SLAs as well as internal metrics such as KPIs  

  • Responsible for achievement of established financial, talent, and operational (productivity and quality) goals for Processing teams focused on flood

  • Coordinate with Client Services (Training and Technical Writing) to determine functional technical training needs and corresponding training solutions and documented procedures.

  • Ensure successful approach for flood-related to future-state Single Source Processing (SSP) platform partnering with IT and Operations leaders.  Ensure successful conversions of clients as to flood

  • Work with the Data Analytics team to develop meaningful metrics to help measure operational effectiveness and success.  External audit results will be a key factor for confirming success

  • Partner with Account Management and others related to client strategic approach to tracking flood as well as leading through change as needed

  • Establish plans and execute for new clients or expansion of existing client deliverables

  • Conduct needs analysis to determine appropriate staffing requirements.  Coordinates proper staffing of functional areas

  • Serve as a key member of the Flood Regulatory Review Board

  • Serve as member of Hazard Operations Leadership Team

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Sales & Account Executive organizations and Clients

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 10 years mortgage servicing experience in a management role leading large scale service-related operations

  • Training in Lean or Six Sigma (is a plus)

  • Superior organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a trusting work environment

  • Self-starter, self-disciplined, and target focused but able to work in a matrixed environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, team-oriented working style

  • Ability to work independently and achieve results under time pressure

  • Travel – Up to 25% Travel – required to attend management meetings
