Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a VP, Client Financial Business Partner!

This is a client facing role, senior leadership role, responsible for leading key financial projects and discussions with our largest growth clients (exceeding 1B in revenue) to increase revenue and meet business objectives.   Serves as both a consultant and a partner to plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, evaluate and exceed client needs and expectations.

Provides strategic financial direction to Assurant and our Mobile clients in order to drive program results.  (60%)

  • Analyze program financial performance and provides guidance on program enhancements.

  • Monitor program health across the enterprise to ensure desired results are achieved.

  • Prepare and present monthly financial reviews to mobile clients

  • C oordinate forecast by program both internally and externally.

  • Lead forecast coordination monthly meeting with internal finance groups and client to ensure forecast alignment.

  • Lead on-going financial reconciliation efforts and ensure issue resolution with client

  • Assist and participate in reserve meetings with Actuarial team including material preparation and output.

  • Responsible for relationship with financial contacts in client organization.

  • Assist in the development and presentation at Client business reviews of financial analysis including key insights and recommendations.

Coordination of financial reports/outputs across all client programs to ensure accuracy, data integrity and completeness of financial packages (20%)

  • Ensure consistent formats of reporting across organization and programs

  • Lead cross-functional teams internal to ensure client financials are accurate and complete

  • Collaborate with other functional areas to gather information, design and develop integrated solutions to address business needs and mitigate risks.

  • Improve the quality of important decisions to ensure business strategy delivers the highest financial value at an appropriate level of risk.

  • Strong financing, partnering, and financial operations experience, with the ability to maintain close relationships.

Keeps up to date regarding business challenges, opportunities, strategic direction, industry and competitive environment (20%)

  • Focus on decisions that maximized expected economic value, while taking into account wider sustainability considerations and other stakeholder interests.

  • Expected to accomplish the responsibilities above by working cross-functionally (e.g. Actuarial, Finance, Risk, Accounting, etc…), across a wide variety of levels (e.g. Manager, Director, Sr Director, VP+ etc.), and across the globe.

  • Lead and develop projects with a strong strategic plan based on sound  decisions and a robust operational plan to drive successful project launches with exceptional results

Basic Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, actuarial, finance, business administration or a related field

  • Minimum of 15+ years' of directly-related, progressively responsible professional-level client facing financial management experience

  • 5 years are at the Chief Financial Officer or equivalent level position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. 

  • Wireless experience a must!

  • Up to 50% business travel required
