Manager, Digital Marketing Product Owner

The Manager, Digital Marketing Product Owner oversees the management and optimization of the Assurant corporate web presence across 22+ countries and sites. As an integral part of the digital marketing team, you will lead a scrum/product development team, charged with developing Assurant’s public facing websites and maximizing the value of the product. As the business product owner, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing the execution of both functional enhancements that increase the capabilities of the website long-term and marketing enhancements that help us execute marketing strategies.

In this role, you will manage and oversee the development of our global website strategy, site structure, and hierarchy and manage our global sites built on the Sitefinity platform. This role will manage two digital product specialists and will work with a group of cross-functional marketing teammates (content, campaigns, analytics and channels), business leaders, global leaders and key stakeholders from various departments such as communications, creative services and more.

What will you do in the role?

Define Strategy, Vision and Product Roadmap

  • Define annual and long-term roadmaps for Assurant.com that is high level, strategic and a visual summary that outlines the vision and direction of the site over time.

  • Communicate the vision to key stakeholders and align the roadmap to deliver against organizational goals and objectives.

  • Maintain a cohesive vision despite flexible and often fast paced nature of agile product development.

  • Understand target audience and work cross-functionally to define and enhance B2B and B2C user journeys.

Lead Scrum Team & Manage Product Backlog

  • After vision, strategy and priorities are set, product owner will need to spend time overseeing the actual development of the product, planning, refinement, etc.

  • Lead a group of developers, engineers, UX, QA, technical product owner and scrum master through 2-week sprints, ceremonies, prioritization, releases, and all aspects of agile product development.

  • Create list of backlog items and prioritize them based on the overall strategy and business objectives.

Operational Governance

  • Stay up to date on digital best practices including regulatory and legal requirements in coordination with compliance, legal, technology, content, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Responsible for strategizing, planning, and executing site migrations, sunsetting legacy sites and any other site work that result from the company’s on-going mergers and acquisitions.

  • Direct responsibility for identifying/managing the CRO testing strategy, working closely with our CRO team to dictate what kind of tests they run.

  • As our CMS resident expert, you’ll be responsible for defining and refining our content editor model and consistently training and increasing editing acumen across all identified users.

  • Regulate and manage access rights of different users.

  • Oversee related resources for web within set budget.

What do you need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

  • At least 6 years as a webmaster or digital product owner; prefer corporate B2B, B2B2C experience

  • 4 years minimum working knowledge of CMS, Sitefinity preferred

  • 4 years minimum working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • 4 years minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally
