Senior Procurement Data Analyst

The Senior Procurement Data Analyst will report to the Director, Spend Analytics and Reporting.In this role, he or she will be responsible for producing complex and detailed analysis using data compiled from multiple sources related to spend, contracts, and governance for Procurement.In addition, he or she will provide reporting on supplier spend, cost savings, and supplier diversity, as well as support various analytical and reporting ad hoc requests within Procurement.

Spend Analytics (40%)

  • Analyze and summarize large amounts of data to “tell the story” of trends and identify issues and opportunities such as supplier consolidation, eliminating rogue spend, etc.
  • Ensure all data sources, data flows, and business rules for spend analytics tool are defined and documented to clearly capture supplier spend at relevant levels such as category, cost center, etc.
  • Validate accuracy of quarterly spend enrichment refreshes loaded to spend analytics tool
  • Create, maintain, and update category spend dashboards and supplier spend reports
  • Train and support Procurement users on use of spend analytics tool
  • Support ad hoc supplier spend analysis requests

Cost Savings Validation and Reporting (30%)

  • Track and produce monthly reporting on cost savings as provided by category leads and Procurement team
  • Explain variances between Procurement savings (value) tracking and business P&L impact
  • Validate calculations of cost savings from vendor purchases
  • Act as an independent reviewer to ensure savings definitions/calculations are consistently applied across all projects
  • Assist with savings impact to annual financial planning process
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for savings validation and reporting

Supplier Diversity (15%)

  • Analyze and provide reporting on spend with diverse suppliers
  • Summarize supplier diversity data for third party reporting requirements
  • Manage supplier diversity data updates
  • Support ad hoc supplier diversity reporting

Vendor Risk Management and Other (15%)

  • Support vendor risk management initiatives as needed
  • Hold the administrator role for any tools and/or data sources related to spend analytics and reporting
  • Other reporting, analysis, and system support as identified by leadership


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or a related field

Required Professional Experience

  • Five years of progressive financial and/or data analysis and reporting

Preferred Professional Experience

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, theories, and processes
  • Procurement experience in a Fortune 500 company
  • Corporate finance experience (e.g., financial analyst/senior financial analyst)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced level experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, index/match, sumifs/countifs, graphs and waterfall charts, etc.) and databases
  • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to track multiple action items, resources, and deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a team and highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to understand and document business processes
  • Focus on continuous improvement
