What is a Code Compliance Specialist at Assurant?
Code Compliance Specialists manages daily contact with AFAS Vendors for assigned properties to ensure the timely completion of goals. In this fast-paced role, you will compose bid proposals to the Client while initiating and maintaining contact with Code Officers. Code Compliance Specialists are the voice of Assurant Field Services.

The Details
  • Detailed understanding and effective implementation of new bid request process and associated requirements
  • Review and submit accurate bids to Senior Property Managers
  • Complete and submit vendor agreements and lien waivers
  • Proficient in listing agent communication
  • Effectively maintain a code compliance portfolio of 90 properties
  • Demonstrated execution of emergency proposals
  • Work overtime when required
  • Research and resolve code violations with clients, agents, vendors, and code officers
  • Assign specific set of Alerts to Associate Coordinators daily and monitor their progress
  • Responsible for daily workflow distribution to Associate Code Coordinators
  • Monitor, update and report on the progress of bids and approved work
  • Participate in special projects
  • Regular interaction with assigned vendors on various communication pieces, such as:
    • Vendor confirmation process
    • Confirm vendor capacity and volume limits
    • Vendor work item set up
    • Vendor, city, county, and HOA negotiations
  • Advanced proposal execution
    • Bid proposal follow-up with clients and vendors
  • Address, update, or escalate client needs
    • I.E. delayed bids, jobs, and city escalated issues
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 2 years of general work experience
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to type 25 wpm
  • 2 years of experience in property management, construction, contracting, mortgage/default industry- a plus
  • 1 year experience in violation/lien resolution and knowledge of code ordinances is a plus
  • 2 years of experience in property management or client operations- a plus
  • 1 year of previous legal experience
