Sr Technical Support Engineer (EFT)

Assurant is looking for a thoughtful, adaptive individual to join our team as a Sr. Technical Support Engineer with a focus on file transfer.

The Sr. Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for the administration and support of secure electronic file transfers for Assurant business applications. Assurant currently uses the following managed file transfer software solutions for secure data movement. MoveIT, Globalscape EFT and Connect Direct.

This is a remote position.


  • Oversee installation and configuration of Globalscape EFT, MoveIT, Connect Direct, Secure Plus, PGP and other file transfer software on various operating systems.

  • Provide new file transfer configuration and support services for Application Teams, Clients, Account Executives and Business Analysts, on EFT Platforms.

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting failed file transmissions.

  • Participate in special projects where file transfer services are needed.

  • Maintain SSL certificates and PGP encryption keys on required systems.

  • Assists remote users with the configuration of their web browsers for compatibility with our HTTPS accounts.

  • Follow Assurant security standards for secure data exchange based on data classification.

  • Maintains and participates in 24 X 7 on-call rotation.


  • File Transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, Connect Direct) Infrastructure / Network / Server/ Industry Monitoring and Performance Testing Tools / Service Management Process.

  • Proficient knowledge of Technology methodologies (life-cycle management, Agile, ITIL, Waterfall).

  • Experienced knowledge of Windows, Unix/ Linux Operating Systems, Technology infrastructures in distributed / cloud configurations, broad network IP, relational databases.

  • AD / LDAP directory understanding and Mainframe technologies.

  • Proficient in PowerShell or equivalent scripting languages.

  • Skilled communication acumen both orally and written, service oriented,.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships, high engagement,.

  • Ability to teach and learn quickly, carries out work requirements with minimal guidance.

  • High-School Diploma with at least 5 years of technical experience in file transfer technical support.
