Systems Development Manager

Job Summary:
The Systems Manager is a position requiring to work with our International clients, business partners, others team, management and IT groups to lead application development team and deliver technical solutions for one of our top growing line of new production to protect what matter the most for our customers.

The Systems Manager:
  • Manages and lead the activities of applications development personnel for large and small projects, or a department activity.
  • Is responsible for quality assurance of the resource deliverables and methodology compliance.
  • Makes decisions on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.).
  • Controls revenues and/or expenses within operating unit and responsible for meeting budget goals and objectives.
  • Provides input to policy level direction regarding standards, budget constraints, etc.
  • Collaborate, and communicate with the other groups internally and externally.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leads, and manages resources for all projects in collaboration with the Project managers
  • Demonstrate and provide leadership on the delivery of technical solutions to our clients
  • Guides, coaches and developments staff
  • Communicates issues and progress to management and customers as needed
  • Conducts and coordinate interview for potential candidates
  • Aligns staff according to skill set and experience to support the projects
  • Develops and cross trains staff to gain technical and business knowledge
  • Performs audits and reviews of project deliverables for completeness
  • Monitors staff performance by rewarding positive behaviors and addressing negative behaviors accordingly
  • Conducts performance reviews and staff meetings with staff providing frequent feedback on meeting the individual and organizations objectives
  • Works closely with stakeholders to collaborate on any resources need
  • Recognizes the positive behaviors that exemplify the corporate goals and values and rewards staff accordingly
  • Monitors and supports on-call team as needed and assures system availability to meet SLAs
  • Proactively address any risk on projects to avoid becoming an issue.
  • Collaborate and support the operation and business unit on all projects and requests
  • Works directly with external vendors and clients as needed to achieve business objectives as directed by management
  • Demonstrate awareness of business objectives, impacts to the company and accountability for decisions made within the team
  • Coordinate the development, and implementation of suitable training programs for the team to ensure awareness of best practices and current technology

Qualifications:
  • Education
    • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, Technical Certification, etc. and/or 5 - 10 years of experience.
      • Application-specific certifications generally considered a plus in the applications areas of focused for the technical lead. If certifications are not in place initially it is expected the lead will pursue and obtain these.
  • Technical and none technical Knowledge and Skills
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Experience with web application, and micro services design
    • Experience in influencing others, managing conflict and interacting well with individuals throughout the organizational hierarchy
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple activities, demands, projects and resources at a time
  • Previous Experience
    • Experience administrating geographically dispersed systems.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology services related management work.
    • Multi-lingual is a plus
    • Working with International business is a plus
  • Technology
    • Broad knowledge and experience managing team using distributed technologies including but not limited to
      • Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic .NET, C#.NET .NET Framework 3.5 & higher, IIS 7.0 and higher
      • Others including CodeSmith code generator, Web Services, WSS 3.0, WSE, & WCF, CSS, HTML, DHTML; Javascript
      • Source control tool – TFS
      • Reporting tool – SSRS and SharePoint
      • Database technology including Oracle 12c and SQL server 2014 and PL/SQL and Stored procedures
