What is a Director, Market Insights & Strategy Execution?

The Global Preneed Director of Market Insights & Strategy Execution will contribute to the execution of the Global Preneed business strategy through facilitating the success of our distribution partners, product launches, and strategic initiatives. This position will collaborate across the Innovation and Sales teams to identify marketing approaches and tactics that meet the business’s objectives, as well as client and customer needs, and is responsible for managing and ensuring successful execution of those plans. By ensuring the implementation of a disciplined Consumer Insights practice into our decision-making process and leveraging consumer insights -both internal and external – this position will support the development of new business strategies and the validation of existing programs to warrant their alignment to the needs and wants of the customers we are serving and targeting. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring internal communications are effective and timely, and aligned to the business strategy.

The Details  

  • Responsible for directing and managing the design and development of marketing programs to promote our business to target constituents (current and prospective distribution partners, funeral home network participants, consumers) by various appropriate and effective means in collaboration with Global Preneed Strategy and Sales teams
  • Coordinate and direct resources to support the development and communication of our business strategy to internal stakeholders and audiences - senior leaders, leaders outside our LOB, and all employees
  • Manage the coordination of internal communications to ensure consistent tone and approach, and alignment to business objectives and priorities
  • Support the development of external communications related to our strategic priorities and initiatives in flight
  • Develop and execute qualitative and quantitative consumer insights research programs to inform and validate strategic decisions
  •  Leverage consumer insights to support marketing efforts and internal communications relating to our business strategy and priorities
  • Work with cross functional teams (Strategy and Innovation, Sales, Operations, CX, Compliance, Legal, enterprise Marketing and Digital, etc.) on the above responsibilities to consider relevance and impact across the business, as well as ensure high quality results and timely implementation
  • Model innovative thinking, global mindset, commitment to excellence and credibility in all interactions with team, management, clients, partners
  • Collaborates across multiple functional areas to understand the impact and implications of the implementation on processes and procedures (system and people) in order to provide effective guidance and drive execution
  • Fosters an internal personal network of peers and management to gain input and support on the business objectives from areas such as Operations, IT, Legal, Compliance, Customer Experience, Marketing and Sales
  • Networks across Global Preneed and the enterprise to identify and capitalize on existing expertise and resources to drive execution more quickly and efficiently

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration; or relevant business experience with proven track record of development and execution of successful marketing programs
  • Minimum 7 years in a similar position developing/managing marketing approaches
  • Solid experience and knowledge of insurance and protection services business and sales (is a plus)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
