Sr. Claims Accounts Payable Associate

Assurant has a exciting opportunity for a Claims Accounts Payable Associate in Wayne, PA!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review invoice files for accuracy and address any issues as needed
  • Match invoices with claim authorizations
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Enter credits and other payment and/or invoice adjustments
  • Ensures that payments are correctly applied, have appropriate backup and are in balance
  • Maintain and file all invoices and other applicable supporting documentation
  • Reconcile vendor statements/reports
  • Research accounts payable invoice discrepancies and ensures appropriate action is taken
  • Create Invoice Balance Sheet for payment
  • Create check batch to vendor and run reports to validate batch total
  • Prepare and send Preliminary Files to vendor for pre-payment review
    Answer vendor inquiries and update changes as needed
  • Prepare Claims Funding Reports and validate data for accuracy
  • Address any Product Code issues that show up on the report to have them corrected or updated as needed
  • Prepare wires to Underwriters and Vendor payments
  • Prepare remits upon payment and send to vendor
  • Maintain clear communication with vendors/clients
  • Work with vendors/clients to address inquiries and resolve issues
  • Process customer reimbursements
  • Respond to internal and external emails
  • Answer Claims Payable line and assist reps on customers inquiries
  • Performs filing, scanning and copying
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 2 years college with an accounting background
  • 4 years of accounts payable experience
  • 4 years customer service experience
  • Proven Excel experience, specifically with Vlookup, pivot tables


  • Associates degree in accounting
  • Strong organizations skills and attention to details
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment and adjust to change
  • Oracle experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, problem solving and follow through
  • Ability to multi-task, results driven, team player, can work under tight deadlines and ability to communicate with all levels of financial and operational personnel
  • Critical thinking and good judgment
