Assurant Labs is looking for a thoughtful, adaptive individual with a growth mindset to join our growing team as a Software Engineer with a focus on building and integrating content that will help users decideon, understand, and manage smart devices in their home.
In this role, you will work closely with a small product team to build the content delivery structure for use in apps and websites. As a content engineer, you are equal parts business and technology savvy and understand how to connect content to applications through emerging opportunities and content platforms.
We work primarily in React Native and Salesforce/Sitefinity, and we have seen people thrive in this type of role from a variety of backgrounds.
Responsibilities include solving problems, experimenting, and building features that we measure for value to our users. This is a team that requires adaptability to new information and new opportunities as they are discovered and explored. Candidates must have strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to be productive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Build scalable, highly reliable product features
Architect and develop our integrated CMS platform and end-user software applications
Work in a collaborative environment by occasional pair and/or mob programming
Communicate with Engineering Managers and Product Owners to plan and prioritize work and design technical solutions
Work in a cadence oftwo-weeksprints with daily stand-ups and bi-weekly retrospectives
Conduct design and code reviews
Grow subject matter expertise in programming, product, and platform
Collaborate with designers, content developers, and other software, site reliability, and QA engineers on cross-functional software products
Design and structure the information architecture, taxonomy, and content metadata to map content for specific users and use cases
Experience building with CMS platforms such as Sitefinity or Salesforce Communities
Experience consuming RESTful APIs
A strong foundation in object-oriented or functional programming
Hands-on knowledge of version control systems such as Git
Ability to demonstrate technical know-how through individual contributions, pair programming exercises, and architectural designs
Technical leadership skills with the ability to resolve ambiguity in requirements
A disciplined approach to development, testing, and quality assurance
Ability to reason with and adapt to evolving development tasks and priorities
Strong communication skills to create a productive communication environment with team members and stakeholders
Experience and familiarity with Cloud Architecture (such as AWS or Azure)
React Native development, or experience with React or Vue
Experience with testing frameworks likeXCTest, Espresso, or Detox
Experience instrumenting applications with an analytics framework like Google Analytics orMix Panel
Willingness to participate in mentoring and skills transfer among team members
A continuous learning mindset that keeps you current on development best practices and trends
Desire for a deep technical understanding for the problems at hand
Ability to balance trade-offs between speed and quality based on business priorities
