Job Purpose:
The Lead Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, preparing, and providing insightful explanations with regards to monthly and quarter-end earnings, forecast, and plan deliverables. This role will support Repair and Logistics (R&L) management and internal FP&A reporting for the business unit leadership teams.
Responsibilities:
Prepare concise variance analysis (actual results vs. prior periods, plan, and forecast) for specific financial statement lines (e.g., revenues, COGS, expenses, net operating income) at the business unit levels
Prepare in-depth explanations for margin analysis
Provide critical financial support to FP&A and R&L Operational management, including month/quarter-end earnings, forecast, and plan
Identify and explain trends and variance drivers, key performance indicators, risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations to key members of leadership
Responsibilities involve working closely with the FP&A and the operational teams to enhance processes and reporting, recommend and implement procedures to resolve data quality issues and ensure consistency between multiple areas and reporting systems
Prepare and develop reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and an ad-hoc basis
As Lead Financial Analyst, provide guidance to other analysts on the team
Solid knowledge of financial statement consolidations, internal controls and reviews, financial standards, audits, US GAAP & local GAAP reconciliation, and financial variance analysis
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required – Finance or Accounting
Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance/accounting; must include income statement and balance sheet analysis
Master’s in Finance/Accounting, MBA, or CPA a plus
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections using an advanced level of Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Word
Requires advanced ability to build financial reports, quickly manipulate data, and conduct financial analysis under tight timelines
Experience identifying, evaluating, resolving financial, accounting, and data quality discrepancies
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, Oracle experience a plus
Insurance, Mobile, and/or Manufacturing experience with a thorough understanding of business issues and concepts related to those industries
Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams, at multiple levels, settings, and time zones
Work requires strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
A team player that can work in a complex and fast-paced environment
Occasionally will have to work extended hours, weekends, and be available for business travel (if needed)
