Account Manager, Assurant, India

The role involves Interaction with clients, manage documentation/data related activities w.r.t the new products /plans acquired by business and mandates with Insurers, Underwriters and product Teams.

Assists and supports sales & BD teams to partner for near-term revenue growth, while at the same time, develop joint relationships, initiatives and programs for long-term sustained account success.

Aligns closely with the sales teams to ensure the identification, pursuit, closure, and tracking of customer opportunities to perpetuate the existing base of company revenue engage in customer specific activities as needed. He / she will be responsible for managing post sales work with Leading Clients.

This position will be in a Hybrid mode at Mumbai location.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Drive business support and enhance relationship building with clients and brokers. Ensure robust new business pipelines and improve renewal retention to maximize Assurant’s commercial position.
  • Work closely with underwriters in the region to enhance UW technical skill.
  • Monitor multiple client portfolios and align management and clients on Future positioning / changes
  • observe external risk landscape & trends and ensure timely reporting.
  • Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with any relevant functional groups/committee as assigned across our business in India to ensure any business initiatives and related business matters are in accordance with underwriting regime.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Education- MBA is Mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Insurance support / UW support activities
  • Strong Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Client focused Approach
  • Knowledge of industry and products.
  • Key Account Management Experience.
  • Customer Focus and strong Problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and Relationship building.

What is the Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge needed for this position? 

  • Master’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or relevant field
  • Over 3 years of business and account development experience
  • Proven track record as Insurance support professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate initiative objectives, implementation plans and status internally and externally
  • Deal negotiation/ partnership experience with large sized companies
  • Self-starter, quick learner, proactive, flexible, self-motivated and open-minded
  • Roll-up sleeves, can-do attitude, creative and out-of-box thinker, strong sense of ownership and responsibility, strong influencing skills engaging and involving relevant parties
  • Understanding of market research methods and analysis
  • Good organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to resolve complex issues with little supervisory support
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, uncertainty, and changing priorities
  • Experience in handling Insurers
  • Good to have: Experience of Large Electronics retails, FinTech & Consumer Durables OEM’s
  • Understanding MNC organization and operations and ability to adjust to it while enjoying start-up environment locally
