Company Secretarial Assistant, Europe

12 months Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave

Location: United Kingdom | Flexible and remote working available, with the ability to attend UK Board meetings at ou r UK offices (Crewe, Mitcheldean, Tunstall).

The Opportunity

Join Assurant’s European Legal and Compliance team as a Company Secretarial Assistant, supporting high-quality corporate governance across the UK and Europe. In this fixed-term role, you’ll help keep our boards, committees, records and statutory obligations running smoothly while working with colleagues across several European markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as lead secretary for the UK Business Committee, including meeting planning, agendas, materials, minutes and action logs.
  • Support European Leadership Team and UK Board and Committee activity, including in person attendance at quarterly meetings in the UK..
  • Maintain statutory registers, corporate records and governance schedules.
  • Prepare and manage routine corporate documents, filings and information requests.
  • Coordinate signatures, notarisation, legalisation and support from external company secretarial partners.
  • Maintain the European corporate structure chart and administer entity management systems and the Board portal.
  • Contribute to governance projects, process improvements and monitoring of relevant legal and regulatory changes.
  • Provide wider administrative support to the team, including departmental inbox, diary, SharePoint and invoice processing.

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualified, part-qualified or working towards qualification with the Chartered Governance Institute, or able to bring equivalent governance experience.
  • Experience supporting company secretarial and corporate governance activities, preferably in a regulated financial services business.
  • Good understanding of UK company law, statutory filings, corporate records and governance processes.
  • Confident and experienced preparing meeting materials, taking accurate minutes and managing follow-up actions.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and board portal and entity management systems such as Board Vantage and Diligent Entities.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and use initiative.
  • Clear communicator who enjoys working with stakeholders across different countries and functions.
