Overview of Position
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and implement software applications that support and enhance industrial automation systems. This role partners with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance automation solutions that drive operational efficiency across reverse logistics operations. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with experience in automation technologies, machine vision, data processing, and cloud-based solutions.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications supporting industrial automation systems.
- Develop scalable libraries, tools, APIs, reporting platforms, and visualization solutions to improve operational performance.
- Integrate machine vision systems, machine learning models, and data processing technologies into automation workflows.
- Collaborate with project managers, automation engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in technical leadership activities including architecture discussions, code reviews, best practice development, and research initiatives.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming experience with C++, Python, and/or C#.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience building scalable software solutions in industrial automation, manufacturing, logistics, or related environments.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservice architectures.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Experience with machine vision technologies, including OpenCV and hardware integration.
- Experience developing or integrating machine learning solutions using frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience working with large datasets, real-time data streaming, and data visualization tools.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, and EtherCAT.
- Experience integrating with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
General office environment with frequent collaboration across engineering, operations, and technology teams. Work may include occasional interaction with industrial automation equipment and software systems.
