Job Purpose

The Sr Ethics and Compliance Analyst serves as a data specialist who builds, administers, and analyzes internal ethics-related metrics to promote a culture of ethics and compliance across Assurant.

General activities include creation and maintenance of a suite of Ethics-related PowerBI dashboards, the preparation of data-driven insights for internal and leadership stakeholders and supporting team initiatives.

This position will work closely with the AVP, Ethics & Compliance as well as internal partners in Legal, HR, and Compliance, to build and implement the data analytics structures that will ensure that we remain in compliance with Assurant’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Primary Job Responsibilities

All responsibilities span the global Assurant enterprise.

  • Builds and maintains PowerBI dashboards covering all areas of the Ethics program, including investigations, conflicts of interest, training, and awareness activities. 
  • Provides data analysis support to Ethics & Compliance investigations.
  • Performs first-line analysis of reporting on a regular basis and provides key insights via scorecards to internal and leadership stakeholders.
  • Escalates key insights to AVP, Ethics & Compliance for further review and triage.
  • Performs key testing initiatives and maintains our internal testing and monitoring library.
  • Provides support in automation and AI initiatives.
  • Maintains our interactive Code of Business Ethics and Conduct site, SharePoint site, and provides general technical support to our team.
  • Champions speak-up, transparency and a culture of integrity throughout the organization.
  • May also assist with other ethics and compliance special projects, including:
  • Triage and routing of incoming Conflicts of Interest to the appropriate parties. Production of regular reports.
  • Assembly of data related to training completion in response to audit requirements.
  • Handling ad-hoc department/stakeholder-specific reporting requests.
  • Compilation of communications-related channel analytics to measure engagement.
  • Maintenance of document/SOP library.
  • Assistance with help requests related to use of our investigations/disclosure systems.

Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum experience required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Experience

  • Minimum three years’ experience in creation and maintenance of PowerBI dashboards, with an emphasis on automation.
  • Experience working at a large multinational and highly matrixed organization.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of core KPIs related to corporate compliance and ethics, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, including investigations, training, conflicts, and awareness.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology to develop trend analysis, data visualizations, or other documentation.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including ability to plan and conduct multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with both internal and external partners on operational initiatives.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Education/Certification

  • Microsoft Certified: PowerBI Data Analyst Associate certification a plus

Experience

  • Experience supporting an enterprise-wide ethics & compliance program preferred
  • Knowledge of core KPIs related to corporate compliance and ethics, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, including investigations, training, conflicts, and awareness.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite with specific emphasis in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with AI-enabled tools, such as Copilot and ChatGPT
