Responsibilities and Main Tasks
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for varying complexities of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission for management review and approval.
- Perform and support reconciliation activities while actively contributing to the identification, design, and implementation of automation opportunities across assigned processes and the broader Center of Excellence (COE). Partner with stakeholders to improve process scalability, strengthen operational controls, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual effort through continuous process improvement and automation initiatives.
- Demonstrate an understanding of assigned balance sheet accounts, including related upstream and downstream processes and key operational dependencies.
- Complete timely and accurate analytical reviews of reconciliations within scope, investigating variances and supporting resolution efforts.
- Supports the aging analysis compilation and review.
- Provide support on reconciliation requirements and documentation standards for area of responsibility.
- Build effective working relationships with business partners and operational stakeholders to facilitate timely issue resolution.
- Monitor key financial metrics and management reporting related to assigned areas of responsibility.
- Participate in projects and initiatives including but not limited to, system integrations, acquisitions, and process improvement for areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned accounts by proactively identifying, researching, and resolving reconciling items while maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Exercise professional judgment when evaluating transactions and account activity, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Maintain high-quality work standards by identifying potential issues, trends, and control concerns and escalating them when appropriate.
- Ensure all assigned processes are fully documented with accurate and up-to-date desk procedures.
Requirements
- BA or BS in Accounting, CPA preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related general accounting experience, insurance preferred Demonstrated experience working with Oracle ERP or other ERP tools.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel, word, and powerpoint Experience in analytical skills: gather & analyze data, identify trends and differences, communicate the impact or story appropriately, and ensure relevant resolution for all activities.
- Demonstrates awareness of AI-enabled and automation tools and applies them appropriately to improve productivity, data analysis, and process efficiency.
- Utilizes technology solutions, including AI-assisted tools, to support reconciliation activities, research, and process improvement initiatives.
- Supporting manager in transformational initiatives
- Ability to demonstrate strong collaboration, delegation, and partnering skills.
- Proven ability to operate independently, prioritize competing deliverables, and make sound decisions under tight close timelines.
Other Requirements
- Knowledge of US GAAP, STAT, internal controls, financial reporting and data analysis and trending preferred
- Understanding of progressive accounting practices and procedures
- Blackline or other reconciliation tool usage a plus
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e., SOX, audits)
- Working in an enterprise center of excellence environment a plus
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to strict timelines for recurring deliverables such as quarter-end close activities which may require extended working hours during those periods.
This is a hybrid role that requires in‑person attendance at our Buenos Aires, Argentina office once per week.
