The Ethics & Compliance Program Manager is a key contributor within Assurant’s Ethics function, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing core elements of the Company’s global ethics and compliance program. This role helps promote a strong culture of integrity and accountability while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards.
The role partners closely with the AVP, Ethics & Compliance, the ethics team, and stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, People Org, and Risk to advance program maturity, oversee monitoring and testing activities, support investigations, and measure program effectiveness.
This is a remote role, with a strong preference for candidates based in Atlanta, GA
What will my duties and responsibilities be in this job?

Develop and deliver high‑quality ethics and compliance training for employees, third parties, and management on topics such as anti‑corruption, conflicts of interest, fraud, sanctions, and other key risk areas

Create engaging ethics awareness content to strengthen employee understanding of ethics and compliance responsibilities

Analyze trends and prepare reporting narratives for senior leadership and the Audit Committee on risk areas, program health, and key initiatives

Conduct ethical culture assessments and design and execute remediation plans to address program gaps

Serve as a subject matter expert, providing proactive and reactive guidance to employees and leaders on ethics‑related matters

Partner with internal stakeholders and, as appropriate, support or conduct ethics investigations, including fact‑gathering, documentation, and reporting of findings

Manage Conflict of Interest (COI) programs, including campaign execution, analysis of low‑to‑medium risk disclosures, escalation of high‑risk matters, annual controls testing, and ongoing remediation

Develop and refine systems to monitor, measure, and validate the effectiveness of ethics and compliance initiatives, recommending corrective actions as needed

Support periodic updates to Assurant’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, including the interactive version

Develop and oversee the annual review of key ethics policies, guidelines, and SOPs (e.g., Conflict of Interest Policy)

Participate in and help facilitate the Ethics Coordinator Network, collaborating with compliance teams across regions to address local ethics risks

Research industry best practices and develop business proposals for program enhancements

Champion a strong speak‑up culture, transparency, and ethical decision‑making across the organization

Collaborate closely with IAAS, Sustainability, Legal, People Org, and Risk partners to continuously enhance the ethics and compliance program

Support the development and evolution of ethics and compliance metrics, including the appropriate use of AI and data analytics

Monitor reporting systems to proactively identify and address potential ethics and compliance issues

Act as a project manager for ethics and compliance initiatives and support M&A integration activities as needed
What are the requirements needed for this position?

Minimum of 5 years of experience in ethics, compliance, risk management, audit, or legal functions

Experience in a large, multinational, matrixed organization

Proven success in developing training and awareness content

Experience leading investigations end‑to‑end

Strong knowledge of ethics and compliance frameworks, COI management, and program effectiveness

Ability to leverage technology and AI for reporting and analysis

Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills

Excellent judgment, integrity, and ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law/Legal Studies, or a related field

CCEP or LPEC preferred; CFE, CIA, and/or JD a plus

Minimum of 3 years of program management experience supporting enterprise compliance programs in a regulated environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience conducting risk assessments and culture assessments

$103,800.00 - $173,300.00
