Overview of Position
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data & Reporting Analyst to build, automate, and maintain data and business intelligence solutions for the Renters Insurance Financial Planning & Analysis team. This role serves as the primary technical owner of reporting and analytical solutions, translating FP&A reporting and analytical requirements into scalable technical solutions through data acquisition, validation, modeling, reporting, automation, and analysis.
Approximately 70-80% of the role focuses on data, reporting, business intelligence, analytics, and technical solution development, while the remaining portion is dedicated to understanding financial and business context. This position offers significant autonomy and ownership, allowing the analyst to influence decision-making, enhance reporting capabilities, drive automation initiatives, and explore the application of AI and emerging technologies within Finance.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Translate FP&A reporting and analytical requirements into technical solutions that support actuals, budgets, forecasts, revenue, expenses, profitability, operational metrics, and KPIs.
- Explore, understand, and maintain knowledge of databases, data warehouses, reporting environments, business rules, and data dependencies.
- Assess data quality, completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and fitness for purpose.
- Extract, combine, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources.
- Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain recurring reporting solutions and ad hoc analytical tools.
- Design, build, enhance, and support Power BI dashboards, data models, measures, and reporting solutions.
- Explore and integrate AI solutions into reporting and analytics development processes.
- Recommend reporting enhancements, process improvements, automation opportunities, and scalable solutions.
- Document data sources, calculations, assumptions, controls, lineage, and operating procedures.
- Partner with data owners and technology teams while maintaining ownership of FP&A reporting and analytics deliverables.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting development, and analytics.
- Advanced SQL experience in a professional environment.
- Strong hands-on Power BI experience, including report development and data modeling.
- Advanced Excel skills for analysis, validation, financial modeling, and reporting.
- Professional English proficiency, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Experience with DAX, Power Query, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and production support within Power BI.
- Experience with Alteryx, Python, or similar tools for data preparation, integration, automation, and analysis.
- Exposure to financial planning systems, ERP platforms, general ledger data, or transaction-level data.
- Experience automating recurring reporting and analytical workflows.
- Experience supporting FP&A, Finance, Accounting, Commercial Analytics, Operations Analytics, or other data-driven business functions.
- Ability to interpret results, identify opportunities for deeper analysis, and recommend practical process improvements.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or another data-intensive industry.
