Job Purpose

The Senior Privacy Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s privacy and data protection compliance program. This position ensures adherence to applicable data privacy laws, internal policies, and industry best practices. The senior analyst will conduct privacy risk assessments, support privacy impact assessments (PIAs), manage incident response activities, and provide subject matter expertise to business units regarding data handling practices.

Primary Job Responsibilities

·       Monitor and interpret global, federal, and state privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA) and assess their applicability to the organization.

·       Conduct and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

·       Collaborate with IT, Security, Legal, and business units to ensure privacy by design and default principles are embedded in systems, products, and services.

·       Evaluate third-party data processors and vendors for privacy compliance through risk assessments and due diligence.

·       Track, investigate, and respond to privacy incidents and breaches, including root cause analysis and regulatory notifications.

·       Maintain the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and data inventory documentation.

·       Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs across the organization.

·       Assist with audits, assessments, and regulatory inquiries related to data privacy.

·       Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of privacy policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

·       Stay current with changes in privacy laws, enforcement actions, and industry trends.

·       Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles, preferably within regulated industries.
  • Experience conducting PIAs, DPIAs, and managing incident responses.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of major data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business processes.
